Businesses are able to apply for financial support to improve the energy efficiency of your business premises.

Financial support for businesses to support with energy efficiency

Through the Department for Enterprise, subject to specific eligibility requirements, businesses are able to apply for financial support to improve the energy efficiency of your business premises.

Business Improvement Scheme

The Business Improvement Scheme offers financial support of 50% up to £5,000 to eligible businesses to support with a range of disciplines, including the following to support with energy efficiency:

Environmental efficiency and energy audits

The Scheme can support with the cost of provisioning an energy audit for businesses to understand where they can make improvements to decrease their energy costs.

Business Energy Saving Scheme

The Business Energy Saving Scheme has been designed to help local businesses adopt energy efficient solutions to reduce carbon emissions and reduce overheads.

The Scheme offers eligible businesses unsecured interest free loans up to a maximum of £20,000, repayable over a five year period.

Support can be used towards projects including (but not limited to):

  1. Lighting & lighting controls
  2. Heating & heating controls
  3. Insulation upgrades
  4. Heat recovery systems
  5. Pipe insulation
  6. Solar heating systems
  7. Wind turbines
  8. Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points

Advisory Support for businesses to support with the cost of living

Through the Business Improvement Scheme, the Department for Enterprise offers a Business Advisory Service, supporting 100% of the cost of a Business Advisor to provide advice to businesses on improvements they can make to become more energy efficient.
